Cricketqube - AgeWise Healthy Ageing App

Enabling the company to understand the potential opportunities as a prediabetes self-management solution provider to the NHS

The clinical need

Cricketqube developed an app, AgeWise, a self-management tool for people who have been identified at risk of diabetes (people with non-diabetic hyperglycaemia) as part of the national programme - Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP), and who require support to manage their condition. It aims to improve compliance and completion of existing programmes, while reducing the burden on healthcare professionals and NHS resources. Following initial exploration of the NHS service provision, the company has continued the development of their app with clearer understanding of their route to market, and opportunities to collaborate with existing service providers.

Project challenge

As part of its app development and initial engagement with NHS teams in one UK region, the company wanted to have a clearer understanding of opportunities at a national level and the current gaps in the digital DPP service provision which their app could address.

With funding from InnovateUK, Cricketqube chose Medipex to expand their clinical insight, support economic modelling and shape a compelling value proposition for NHS organisations and potential commercial partners.

How did Medipex help?

Medipex conducted a comprehensive review of the current delivery and commissioning of the DPP. This included:

These insights are now contributing to the company's development of their strategy to engage with the NHS and potential partners. They are now actively looking for investment.

Testimonial

“We’ve been working with Medipex for more than two years now, working with Medipex has been a wonderful experience for us. It enabled us to understand where our product would fit in with the NHS and the wider business community. So working with Medipex has really helped us to define our commercial value.”

“Without that support from Medipex, we would not have known this is an opportunity for us to go into the NHS, and instead we would be just thinking, How do I get this into a B2C product? “
